Scholarships available
The CCC Foundation, along with area partners within the field, offer two scholarships for up to 15 students in this program. The first scholarship covers the whole cost of tuition and fees for the program for 15 students who enroll and complete the three-course series. The second scholarship, an "Earn to Learn" scholarship, puts up to $1000 in each student's pocket to assist with other expenses during the semester. Different dollar amounts will be dispersed throughout the semester as students complete certain benchmarks in the Foundations for College Success 101 course.
Why choose Human Services fields
Students pursuing education in Human Services may find themselves in fields that include abuse and domestic violence prevention, foster care, youth development, victim assistance, disaster relief, senior care and housing, offender rehabilitation, substance abuse and many others.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a median annual salary of $67,150 for social and community service managers in 2019 and entry level positions have starting salaries just under $30,000. With the pre-pandemic projected growth rate of 13% for those positions through 2028, employment prospects look positive for those seeking new opportunities in human and community services fields.
Daily work in Human Services involves working with individuals and small groups, connecting community members to resources, and supporting people as they take steps toward living healthy, meaningful lives. Enrolling in our exploratory series is a great way to explore what careers in these fields might be like and ways someone with your skills might be able to make a difference.
