Use of Text Messaging Services

Summary

Clinton Community College utilizes third-party vendors to facilitate certain communications, including mass notifications and student engagement initiatives, with our college members. Current and prospective students that provided their mobile phone number on their college application are subject to be participants within our suite of messaging services.

Services Utilizing Text Messaging

Clinton Community College utilizes three different services to engage with our college community over text messaging:

  • Rave Mobile Security - Serves as our emergency alert system for all major safety and campus notifications, including campus closures due to weather. Rave is an "opt-in" system and requires students to sign up for the service. More information on signing up for Rave can be found on our Alerts page.
  • EdSights (Calvin) - Our AI chat bot that keeps students connected to various resources and information on campus. This is an "opt-out" service and can be stopped at any time by texting "STOP" to the number that contacts the recipient phone.
  • Slate - Utilized by our college admissions department, this tool will provide prospective students with important information and allows our admissions team to keep in contact with prospective students. This is an "opt-out" service and can be stopped at any time by texting "STOP" to the number that contacts the recipient phone.
  • Text-em-all - Utilized by our bursar’s office, this tool provides students with important deadlines for paying their bills. This is an "opt-out" service and can be stopped at any time by texting "STOP" to the number that contacts the recipient phone.

Notice to Participants

Participants have the option to opt-out of these communications at any time by texting "STOP" to the number that messaged them.
