Keys to Success
As a naturalized citizen from Scotland, a number of my motivational sayings have come from my grandmother or famous Scottish persons. Alexander Graham Bell (inventor of the telephone) said, "Before anything else, preparation is the key to success." I think this is relevant to all of us but especially in college. Sometimes it's easy to lose focus on our goals and where we are going....this saying reminds us we are working towards our goal and preparing for our future. In addition, my grandmother used to remind me "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Although an overused phrase, this reminds me that tough times build character, and we are stronger from working through adversity.
