Academic Advances

  • Clinton introduced two new degree programs: Environmental Science Associate of Science and Mechanical Technology Associate of Applied Science. The Environmental Science AS degree program provides students the first two years of an Environmental Science BS, and with SUNY's seamless transfer, graduates have access to programs at mulitple SUNY institutions. The Mechanical Technology AAS degree program prepares students for immediate entry into the workforce. With specialty tracks including Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Computer-Aided Design, graduates are in high-demand.
  • The Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Science Associate of Art degree developed a new track for Fine Art. Students who complete the Fine Art track are able to transfer seamlessly into a SUNY four-year Fine Arts BA program.
  • Clinton signed an agreement with SUNY Plattsburgh to develop a Nursing dual-degree program. Students in the program would complete three years at Clinton, then one additional year at SUNY Plattsburgh to earn both an assoicate's and bachelor's degree in Nursing. We anticipate that students will be able to apply and enter the dual degree program for the 2017-18 academic year.
  • In partnership with Clinton's Center for Community and Workforce Development, Prep 4 Success, an intensive review program to help prospective students and community members prepare for college placement or other tests, was successfully launched. In its pilot session, 228 students were served.
  • Clinton's Center for Community and Workforce Development saw an 8% increase in students served over 2014, along with a 15% increase in total contact hours with students.
