I worked at CCC in 1984 as a counselor in the Inmate Higher Education Program. Then worked in the State Prison system until 1993 when I came back to CCC to be the Assistant Academic Dean in charge of the Inmate program. In 1995, with the demise of that program I became a criminal justice professor, a position I have held since then and I also became the department chairperson in 1999.

I work with the criminal justice club and "Mc Gruff" the Crime Dog with community activities. I also take several Corrections classes each year on a field trip to a local prison called " A Day in Dannemora", which is actually called Clinton Correctional facility. As the advisor of the criminal justice club I take the club members to an overnight field trip to Albany to visit police academies, court rooms, airport security, and local jails there.
I am an avid angler, with a serious bend towards bass fishing. I also am an ice fisherman who braves the cold to capture the aquatic critters below. I like walking and hiking with my wife Jean, who is a teacher in the Education Department at Plattsburgh State University. I go Adirondack Mountain and Maine Ocean camping in the summer months and coordinate charity golf tournaments as well.
Advice To Students:
Work hard, college is not easy. Listen to the professors and go to see them for advise. They are waiting for you to do so. Don't disappoint us! Learn to work with others as "two heads are better than one". Be patient with others but more importantly, be patient with yourself. You can do this!
